"Warhammer - The Horus Heresy" ist ein Spiel ähnlich wie W40k, nur hier mit dem Bruderkrieg des 30. Jahrtausend als Hauptthema.

Schwerpunkt ist der Kampf von Menschen gegen Menschen (vorallem der großen Space Marine Legionen).

Eine der Hauptursachen für das Spiel war die erfolgreiche Horus Heresy-Romanreihe.

1.Edition (2012)

Zu Anfang (2012ff) wurden die Regeln der 6. bzw. 7. Edition von W40k genutzt. 2017 erschien dann eigenständiges Regelwerk.

Diverse Produkte wie Bücher, Figuren, usw. erschienen unter der Führung von Forgeworld und waren lange Zeit ein sehr exklusiver (teurer) Kreis von Spielern vorbehalten.

2. Edition (2022)

Zusammen mit einer Starterbox erschien 2022 die zweite Edition. Bei der Starterbox handelt es sich um "The Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness" und enthielt die lange erwarteten Plastikfiguren.
Diese Edition ist eine Überarbeitung der vorhandenen Regeln mit einigen neuen Aspekten. Inzwischen sind diverse neue Produkte erschienen.
